About Me

I'm a retired engineer with an avid interest in health and fitness related activities.  Offering the services identified in this website may help others within the community to enhance their health and fitness, and also helps me stay active and healthy.

Walking:

  • I walked approximately 500 miles for exercise last year in addition to the rest of the exercise and fitness activities I do throughout the year.
  • These walks include events up to 20 miles per day, and a trip to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and the ascent out of the canyon the following day.
  • Walking is a wonderful low-impact exercise that provides significant cardiovascular benefits and can greatly help with body weight management and control.

Bicycling:

  • I typically rode approximately 3,200 miles per year when I was working, with approximately 250 hours on the bike.
  • My primary biking partner and I enjoy doing long rides of 100 miles in a day, called a Century, and typically complete about 9 of those per summer.
  • Speed, peak performance, or distance aren't really the objective or goal for me; the primary objective is enjoyment and staying healthy and fit.
